Sick again 2

click picture to play or enlarge
If you are really sick, it's nice to go to bed. Once as a youngster I was schoolsick, I hadn't learnt my schooltest. But when my temperature was taken, I proved to be really sick, it was the Hong Kong flue which was spreading enormously back than.

Sick again

click picture to play or enlarge

I did the sick stuff last two weeks, but this is for a different client. This one is added to a comical list, what you should not do to avoid infection of others. My example was not on the list. Broke the drawing in two, for a better view. This guy shoots his mucus right across the page.

Potato starch

Potatoe starch is used in many ways. Examples in this drawing are: Wallpapper glue, Ppostage stamp glue, medicin capsules, in lead of pencils and for preparing sauces. And you can make your own gel as well, as shown on 8 November.

Illustration Friday: Invention

click picture to play or enlarge
I never came near of making an invention. Saw a documentary on the dutch tellie about dutch inventors. It was not obvvious that the best inventors had the most success. Like with money, recognition and satisfaction. The ones that sold there stuff in time to a company and did not have to go the dreary way of chasing after the patents, including mountains of time waste and paperwork, all the time, were the most successfull ones. As I said, successfull in the wide range of meanings.

Mushrooms

click picture to play or enlarge

Just agreed with the illustration representative at the dutch designers union (BNO) that I will react in a column on another column in this week arrived BNO-magazine. The author, a designer, spoke of his dislike of animals in clothing appearing in children's books. He and his firm are attracted as new designers for a youth magazine "Jippo". He, in my opinion, uses lame argumentation to bring his dislike under the attention.
And now I show here a drawing in which even mushrooms have arms, legs and a face.
By the time my column appears I will publish both columns on my blog.

Snow walking

click picture to play or enlarge
Page wide illustration for a magazine about walking and cycling. About snow walking. They used to do that with tennisracket (old wooden) like constructions to bind under your shoes. Nowadays there are modern synthetic shuttle like ones.
In holland we have signs for everything you are allowed to do or forbidding you to do something or limit your doings or direct them. Anything.
