Candy floss/Cotton candy

Candy floss/Cotton candy is "Suikerspin" in dutch. Literally translated, "Sugarspider".In reality the dutch "spin" is coming from rotating with speed/spinning and making thread of wool or cotton. And not the spider, which is also named "spin" in dutch. Ofcourse because a spider also spins his thread.
And way back in the 1950's-60's when ladies's build up towers of hair with hairspray, we called that "Suikerspin". As a kid I was most impressed with Cotton Candy ladies, with stiletto heels.
