Illustration I made for a book that is called "The Children's University" and is based on monthly lectures in which scientist try to explain a topic to children. Subjects like why is the sky blue?, why is shit brown?, why is the sea salt?, how do plants grow?, where is the rainbow coming from?, what happens when I sleep?. 10 lectures. Somewhere about 60 -90 illustrations. Lectures were held at "NEMO" , a science center in the Amsterdam harbour region, which looks like a ship.
This illustration is part of the "Smelling" lecture and expresses, the difference in which way your mouth open the doors to the sensation of taste. Mouth can only understand bitter, sweet, salt and sour.
